Seems anything whatsoever needs killing fast, ( faster then the human mind can even register they've won yet ) the Cryolator seems to be the gun for the job.
I'm pretty sure I had more rounds fired, still traveling towards him by the time he died, then it actually took to kill him in a single burst. It couldn't have been more then 4 rounds that connected before he was a pile of questionably flavored popsicles. In fact it seems just the opposite, being able to merc a 60+ legendary Deathclaw in little more then a single burst ( literally, first time I used it was with the crystallizing barrels, ran across said Deathclaw, recalled placing the Cryolator in my pack, equip it expecting atleast some sort of challenge ). Well, what's happening is most enemies in Fallout 4 are without any Cryo resistance, base or otherwise. Remember the Cryolator takes a unique ammo type, the 'Cryo' cell.
